Philly Auto Show 2010 – Cars you will probably never drive
As promised, here begins some coverage of the Philadelphia Internation Automobile show, 2010 edition! We’ll be having a few articles about the show, including an editorial as well as a write-up by Paul on the cars that this website is interested in. I intend to start the series with a small article of some of the cars that were there which average guys like us will most likely never drive.
Four Reasons why GPS is the Worst Thing to ever happen to Motoring.
I must admit that I love gadgets, especially gadgets that are technology and car related. The current preeminent car/tech gadget is obviously the portable GPS. Though they are nothing new (and their existence seems limited by the increase of in-dash systems), the past six months have been a boon to their adoption. Ever dropping prices means you can get a system for under $100 and it also means that more and more features and bigger and bigger screens are being offered at the traditional price points (a five inch screen can be had for less than $200).
So what do I have against inexpensive technology that seemingly helps people enjoy their cars more? Everything.

Will’s Song of the Week – 2.9.10
Howdy everyone. I assure you, Paul and I will post up some coverage of the Philly Car Show, although we didn’t get to spend quite as much time there as we would have liked. Mother Nature really messed up our carefully laid plans. We will put some posts up soon, however, especially since I will have no excuse tomorrow as Mother Nature gives me a day off from work! I guess I forgive her…
We have also been occupied with another issue, which we will announce soon. Anywho, I figured I would put up a song post, and not just any song post. This song is a little known gem that is another song written for all us driving enthusiasts.
We are going to the auto show. I promise.
Philly Auto Show v Mother Nature
Well this is the day folks! Press passes in hand (well at the Will Call Booth) we are getting ready to take on the Philadelphia International Auto Show. That is, if the snow doesn’t take it on first…
Look for lots of posts over the next few days about our thoughts about the show and motoring in the upcoming year.
Facepalm
Prius brakes are faulty, and it is a software issue.
Dear Toyota,
I would suggest that two weeks ago was the time to fully come clean.

The Woz and the Art of Toyota Repair
![]()
The theory that there is something wrong with certain Toyota models beyond a pedal issue is intriguing, yet hard to conceptualize and based on nothing but circumstantial evidence and some mild assumptions. Some of the evidence that Toyota has yet to truly (publicly) identify the cause of the issue is that a number of models with known unintended and uncontrollable acceleration issues have been left out of the recall (including the Lexus ES350). Suddenly, this theory has a brand new supporter, and one that knows a little about what may be at the heart of the issue.
Meet Steve Wozniak.
Read on to find out about Wozniak’s findings as well as breaking information on the Federal Investigation into Toyota.

There is a reason for some rules…
Warning: This is going to be a rant thread. Consider yourself forwarned.
I am a patient man. This is not idle boasting, I have actually been commended on this trait by numerous others including work supervisors (that makes it official!). As this is a personality trait, it is innate and has been developed throughout my life. However, I also actively cultivate it as a necessary skill for my professional life.
And yet I too find myself yelling at my steering wheel. All. The. Time. As different scenarios occur that incite my wrath I intend to seek catharsis on this very blog, allowing the anger to flow out of me, through my keyboard, and into your face.
Oh, and I will also offer the (almost always) simple solution to preventing these interruptions to my serenity for all to read and understand. Keep in mind that this is opinion and I know that there will be those who have differing opinions. It just so happens that they are wrong.
Toyota Recall – What is the fallout for Toyota?
The most tragic part of the sales suspension and recalls is that people had to die for us to get here. Yet an unseen tragedy is developing before us. Regardless of what is causing the issue and how much fault Toyota Corporate holds, those that will suffer most hold no fault at all. Who are they? Your local Toyota dealership.
The dealers will likely be caught in a Catch-22. Right now, they are unable to sell their most popular vehicles, yet other profitable vehicles (typically hybrids) are still available for sale. Additionally, any recall results in more service calls, a busy service staff, and guarantee reimbursement from the manufacture. Yet what is the long term impact?
